Let’s be blunt: collectivism has no place in a progressive society. It is reductionist by nature — it crushes individuality, neuters ambition, and replaces excellence with safe, state-approved mediocrity. That’s exactly what’s happened to architecture. The Bauhaus used politics to fuel vision; today’s woke curators and their clique of elitist, vanity-seeking leeches use politics to smother it. The Biennale isn’t a celebration of architecture — it’s a mausoleum for a discipline suffocated by ideological conformity and self-serving posturing. Until we rip architecture back from the grip of these collectivist parasites, we’ll be stuck with empty gestures and no future worth building.

Mr. Schumacher: If you drop the distinction between architecture and mere building, you may spare all your complaining about woke deconstructivism and the freewheeling model. I was taught that architect meant master builder...the vernacular is the actual Zeitgeist.
